Jo Nesbo is a highly successful Norwegian author, best known for his Harry Hole book series. Nesbo was born in Oslo, Norway in 1960 and grew up in Molde. He graduated from the Norwegian School of Economics with a degree in economics. In addition to his writing, Nesbo is also an accomplished musician and is the primary singer and songwriter for the Norwegian rock band Di Derre.
Nesbo's crime fiction has brought him international acclaim, with several of his books topping bestseller charts in the Sunday Times. His work has been translated into over 50 languages and has sold over 33 million copies worldwide. Before becoming a crime writer, Nesbo had a brief football career with Norway’s premier league team Molde, but his dream of playing professionally for Spurs was cut short by a knee injury. After three years of military service, he attended business school and worked as a financial analyst during the day while performing with his band at night.
In addition to his Harry Hole series, Nesbo also writes the children's book series Doctor Proctor. He is a bestselling author in Norway, having sold over a million and a half copies of his books in his home country alone.
