Jody Gehrman is an accomplished author and playwright known for her suspense novels and young adult fiction. She has written fourteen published novels, including the psychological thriller "Watch Me" and the gripping "The Girls Weekend." Her young adult novel "Babe in Boyland" earned the International Reading Association’s Teen Choice Award and was optioned by the Disney Channel. Gehrman’s works span multiple genres, from the darkly atmospheric "The Summer We Buried" to the whimsical "Triple Shot Bettys in Love," showcasing her versatility as a writer.
Gehrman’s career extends beyond novels into playwriting, with her works staged in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Her full-length play "Tribal Life in America" won the Ebell Playwrights Prize and received a reading at the historic Ebell Theater. Alongside her partner David Wolf, she earned the New Generation Playwrights Award for their one-act play "Jake Savage, Jungle P.I." A professor of Communication at Mendocino College, Gehrman holds a Master’s degree in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California. She continues to write from her home in Northern California, drawing inspiration from her surroundings and her passion for storytelling.
