Dr. Joel R. Beeke is a theologian, pastor, and prolific author specializing in Reformed theology, church history, and homiletics. With over 120 authored or co-authored books and 120 edited volumes, his extensive bibliography includes contributions to Reformed literature through works such as "Living for God's Glory" and "A Puritan Theology." He has also penned more than 2,500 articles for journals, periodicals, and encyclopedias, establishing himself as a leading voice in contemporary Reformed scholarship.
Beeke serves as Chancellor and Professor of Homiletics and Systematic Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, where he has taught since 1988. His academic background includes a PhD in Reformation and Post-Reformation Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. As a pastor since 1978, he continues to minister at Heritage Reformed Congregation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His editorial leadership extends to publications like "The Banner of Sovereign Grace Truth" and the "Puritan Reformed Journal," alongside his roles with Reformation Heritage Books and the Dutch Reformed Translation Society. Known for his rigorous yet accessible writing style, Beeke frequently lectures internationally on Reformed doctrine and Puritan spirituality.
