John C. Wright is a prominent author, hailing from California, who has made a name for himself in the realm of science fiction novels. Born in 1961, Wright is a prolific writer who has produced numerous stories across various series. His writing career is a testament to his creativity, imagination, and dedication to the genre.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Wright pursued academic and legal studies. He attended St. John’s College of Maryland, where he participated in the Great Books program, and graduated in 1987. Wright also attended law school; however, his legal career was short-lived. His true passion lay in writing, and he soon shifted his focus to this area.
In addition to his writing, Wright has had a varied career, including stints as a retired attorney, a newspaperman, and a newspaper editor. These experiences have provided him with a wealth of knowledge and insights, which he has no doubt incorporated into his writing. Currently, Wright resides in Virginia with his wife, L. Jagi Lamplighter, who is also an author, and their four children. They live together in a fairy-tale-like happiness, a testament to the power of love and creativity.
Wright's work has been well-received in the literary community, with Publishers Weekly calling him "this fledgling century's most important new SF talent" after the publication of his debut novel, The Golden Age. Furthermore, Wright has been a finalist for the prestigious Nebula award for his fantasy novel, Orphans of Chaos. These accolades speak to Wright's talent and his significant contributions to the science fiction and fantasy genres.
