Dr. John Drake is a renowned author, who trained as a biochemist before discovering his true passion in writing. He began his writing career as an anchorman for PharmaVision, a live-TV broadcast service produced by ICI Pharmaceuticals, before leaving to write full-time in 1999.
Dr. Drake is best known for his Fletcher series, which features a mix of bloodstained savagery and authentic period detail. The series has been successful, with the latest book selling well. He has also finished the third book in the Londinium series, set in Roman London in AD 100, titled "Gods in Londinium," which will be released later this year. In addition to the Fletcher series, Dr. Drake has written a number of other books, including "The Fletcher Companion," which provides readers with all they need to know about Fletcher and his world. He has also written a Georgian detective story, "Thief Catcher," a WW2 super-weapon story, "Agent of Death," a Viking Saga, "Wayfinder," and the "Flint and Silver" trilogy, which is for adults only.
Dr. Drake's writing is inspired by his imagination, which he developed during his daily walks from Wilmot Street, Bethnal Green, East London, to the Central Foundation Boys' school and back. He has a fountain in his head that never stops, providing him with an endless supply of ideas for his stories. He is grateful for his readers' support and hopes that they will continue to enjoy his books as much as he enjoys writing them. The next Fletcher book, "Fletcher and the Constitution," which involves the US Constitution and a US Navy ship, was released in March 2023.
