John Durgin is an American horror novelist and comic book writer best known for his Newport Curse series and bestselling debut novel, "The Cursed Among Us." His works span novels, short stories, and comics, including "Inside The Devil’s Nest," "Sleeping In The Fire," and the 2024 releases "Kosa" and "Consumed by Evil" through Crystal Lake Publishing. A lifelong horror enthusiast, Durgin co-founded Livid Comics, where he created the holiday horror series "Jol" and the comic "Dead Ball."
Growing up in New Hampshire, Durgin discovered Stephen King's "IT" as a child, solidifying his passion for horror fiction. He became an active Horror Writers Association (HWA) member and began publishing short stories in anthologies such as "Beach Bodies" and "Books of Horror." His writing blends supernatural thrills with visceral storytelling, earning acclaim for its eerie atmosphere and gripping narratives. Beyond literature, Durgin co-hosts the podcast "The Livid Comics Lair," discussing horror, comics, and paranormal phenomena with fellow creators.
