John Joseph Adams

John Joseph Adams is a highly accomplished American editor, critic, and publisher in the realms of science fiction and fantasy. Born in 1976, Adams has made a significant impact in the fantasy world, earning him international recognition and numerous awards. He is best known for his work as the editor of the Best American Science Fiction & Fantasy series, as well as many other notable anthologies such as Robot Uprisings, Dead Man's Hand, Brave New Worlds, Wastelands, and The Living Dead.

Adams' accomplishments have led him to be referred to as the 'reigning king of the anthology world' by Barnes & Nobles. He is a two-time winner of the Hugo Award and a seven-time finalist for the World Fantasy Award. In addition to his work as an editor of short science fiction, Adams runs the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt imprint of fiction and fantasy. He is also the series editor of Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, and the bestselling editor of more than thirty anthologies, including Wastelands and The Living Dead.

Adams is also the editor and publisher of the digital magazines Lightspeed and Nightmare, and is a producer for Wired's The Geek's Guide to the Galaxy podcast. He has been nominated for the Hugo Award nine times and is a seven-time finalist for the World Fantasy Award. In addition to his work in short fiction, Adams is also the editor of John Joseph Adams Books, a science fiction and fantasy imprint from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
