John Moss

John Moss is a renowned Canadian author, best known for his thrilling mystery/thriller novels. He has written the Quin and Morgan Mysteries series, which has gained popularity for its engaging and fast-paced stories. Moss has a unique perspective on the mystery genre, believing that nothing brings life into focus like the murder of strangers. This viewpoint has enabled him to create intriguing and thought-provoking novels that keep his readers on the edge of their seats.

Moss has had a distinguished career in academia, having been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2006 in recognition of his work as a professor of Canadian literature. He has written over a score of books in his field, demonstrating his expertise and knowledge in the subject. However, Moss eventually moved away from literary criticism and began to focus on creative writing. Today, he writes fiction full-time, dedicating his efforts to the Quin and Morgan series.

In addition to his writing, Moss is highly regarded for his literary criticism, which is known for being concise and in-depth. He has spoken at various events, sharing his insights and knowledge with audiences worldwide. Moss is also a professor emeritus at the University of Ottawa, where he taught for many years.

Moss shares a stone farmhouse with his wife, Beverley Haun, in Peterborough, Ontario. Haun is a cultural theorist and author, whose book, Inventing ‘Easter Island’, grew out of their travel adventures as scuba divers. Moss and Haun have a passion for adventure and the outdoors, having shared a love of whitewater canoeing, cross-country skiing, and long hikes in interesting places around the world. However, Moss has recently been sidelined from his diving avocation, but he and Haun continue to enjoy their other hobbies and spending time together.
