John Saul

John Saul is a renowned American author, celebrated for his horror and thriller novels. Born in Pasadena, California, Saul's journey to becoming a successful author was not without its challenges. His persistence paid off when he found an agent in New York who helped him secure a contract with Dell Publishing to write a psychological thriller. This marked the beginning of a successful writing career that has spanned over three decades.

Saul's debut novel, "Suffer the Children," was published in 1976 and became an instant bestseller. Since then, he has published at least one New York Times Best Seller each year, with millions of his books now available worldwide in print and translated into 29 different languages. His work has been consistently well-received, and he has been voted as the lead author for Ballantine Books/Random House year after year.

In addition to his work as a novelist, Saul is also interested in the theater. He has acted and has had several one-act plays produced in Los Angeles and Seattle, with two of his plays optioned in New York. One of his novels was produced as a CBS movie, and currently, one of his novels is in development. Saul has also served on the Expansion Arts Panel of the National Endowment for the Arts and is actively involved in the development of other writers. He is a lecturer at the Pacific Northwest Writers Conference and the Maui Writers Conference and received the Life Time Achievement Award from the Northwest Writers Conference.
