Jon Mooallem

Jon Mooallem is a writer who hails from New Jersey and has spent a significant amount of time living in San Francisco, California. He currently resides on Bainbridge Island, which is situated near Seattle, Washington.

Mooallem is a prolific writer who has contributed to a variety of media outlets. He is a longtime writer at large for The New York Times Magazine and has also written for other magazines such as This American Life and Wired. In addition to his written work, Mooallem has also made appearances on radio shows. His speaking engagements include a TED talk and collaborations with members of the Decemberists on musical storytelling projects.
