Jon Stock is a British author known for his espionage and psychological thrillers, writing under both his own name and the pseudonym JS Monroe. As Jon Stock, he has published over six novels, including the "Daniel Marchant" spy trilogy, which begins with "Dead Spy Running," a novel optioned by Warner Bros. with a screenplay by Oscar-winner Stephen Gaghan. Under the JS Monroe pen name, he has written standalone psychological thrillers such as "Find Me," "Forget My Name," and "The Other You," with "Find Me" translated into fourteen languages. His debut non-fiction work, "The Riot Act," was shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association's best first novel award.
Stock began his career as a journalist, contributing to publications like The Daily Telegraph, The Observer, and Private Eye. He served as a foreign correspondent in New Delhi and later edited the Telegraph’s Weekend section before transitioning to full-time writing in 2015. His novels often blend intricate plotting with psychological depth, reflecting his background in investigative journalism.
Beyond his writing, Stock is a Royal Literary Fund Bridge Fellow and serves as vice chair of the Marlborough Literature Festival. He resides in Wiltshire with his wife, photographer Hilary Stock, and their three children. His latest works include "The Sleep Room," published in 2025, and he continues to develop projects in both thriller and espionage genres.
