Joseph Badal is a successful American author, known for his suspense-thriller novels. He is particularly famous for his Bob Danforth series. Badal was born on November 17, 1944, and spent his early years in a family where storytelling was a cherished tradition.
Before turning to writing, Badal had a varied and accomplished career. He served in the U.S. Army for six years in highly classified positions, including tours of duty in Greece and Vietnam. His service earned him numerous military decorations. Following his military service, Badal embarked on a long career in banking and finance, which included a 16-year stint as a senior executive and board member of a NYSE-listed company. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in International Finance and Business Administration, and is a graduate of the Stanford University Law School's Director College, and of the Defense Language Institute, West Coast.
In addition to his professional achievements, Badal is a prolific and acclaimed writer. He has published 18 suspense novels, including seven books in the Danforth Saga series, three books in the Curtis Chronicles series, four books in the Lassiter/Martinez Case Files series, and four stand-alones. His books have received two Tony Hillerman Awards for Best Fiction Book of the Year, been top prize winners in the Mystery/Thriller category in the New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards competition, received four gold medals from the Military Writers Society of America, received the Eric Hoffer Award, and received Finalist honors in the International Book Awards. His next novel, Soulless, the 4th in his Curtis Chronicles series, will be released by Suspense Publishing in June 2023.
Badal is also an Amazon #1 Best-Selling Author, and has been recognized as "One of The 50 Best Writers You Should Be Reading." He is a two-time winner of the Tony Hillerman Award for Best Fiction Book of the Year, and has received multiple Gold Medals from the Military Writers Society of America. In addition to his novels, Badal has written short stories which have been published in various anthologies, and has also written dozens of articles that have been published in business magazines and trade journals.
