Josh Galarza

Josh Galarza is a fiction and creative nonfiction writer as well as a multidisciplinary visual artist. His debut novel, "The Great Cool Ranch Dorito in the Sky," earned critical acclaim as a National Book Award finalist and won the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. His work spans printmaking, book arts, and sculpture, reflecting his diverse artistic background.

Galarza holds an MFA in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University, complemented by a BFA in art and a BA in English from the University of Nevada, Reno. Based in Northern Nevada, he blends literary and visual artistry in his projects. Beyond writing, he is known for his unconventional achievements, including inventing and dominating the sport of extreme trampoline air-drumming, where he remains the three-time reigning world champion.
