Joyce Lavene

Joyce and Jim Lavene are a successful husband-and-wife writing team, who are best known for their mystery and romance novels. They have been writing together since 1999 and have published over 70 books to date. Joyce and Jim also write articles for a small newspaper in Stanly County, North Carolina, and are the publishers of a syndicated garden column featured in most North Carolina newspapers.

In addition to writing under their own names, Joyce and Jim Lavene also publish books under the pen names of J.J. Cook and Ellie Grant, as well as Elyssa Henry and Joye Ames. They have written and published several series, including the Sharyn Howard, Peggy Lee Garden Mysteries, Renaissance Faire Mysteries, Missing Pieces Mysteries series, Sweet Pepper Fire Brigade Mysteries, and Biscuit Bowl Food Truck Mysteries series. Joyce and Jim also enjoy cooking, photography, and ghost hunting in their spare time.

Joyce and Jim Lavene have three children and five grandchildren, and when they are not promoting their books or working on new book ideas, they can be found spending time with their family, taking photos of funny-looking guinea pigs or even congressmen who look like potatoes. They currently reside in North Carolina.
