Juana Medina is an award-winning author and illustrator known for her vibrant picture books and contributions to children's literature. She gained recognition for illustrating "Smick!" by Doreen Cronin and later established herself as a creator with her own authored and illustrated works, including "One Big Salad." Her books are celebrated for their playful storytelling and dynamic visual style.
Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Medina brings a multicultural perspective to her work. She studied and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design before joining the faculty at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University. Medina currently resides in Washington, D.C., where she continues to create engaging books for young readers while mentoring emerging artists.
