Judi Daykin

Judi Daykin is a successful author who was born in Yorkshire but has spent the last forty years living and working in Norfolk. She has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of her surroundings, often drawing inspiration from the vast skies and watery landscapes that characterize the region. Daykin's love for Norfolk is evident in her writing, as she brings the area to life through her vivid descriptions and engaging storytelling.

In addition to her work as an author, Daykin is also a working actor with a diverse range of experience in theatre, film, and television. She has directed productions, led workshops, and even worked as an audio narrator and medical roleplayer. With a career spanning over twenty years, Daykin has built up a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the performing arts.

Daykin completed her MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in 2019. Her debut novel was shortlisted for the prestigious Little, Brown UEA writer's prize in the same year. In 2021, her novel was long-listed for the CWA John Creasey New Blood Dagger, further cementing her reputation as a talented and accomplished writer. These days, Daykin writes full-time from her study in a North Norfolk village, drawing on her diverse background and experiences to create compelling and engaging stories.

When she's not writing, Daykin enjoys pursuing a variety of hobbies and interests, including crafting, art history, watching horror films, and going on cruises. However, with her busy schedule and demanding career, she admits that she doesn't have much spare time to indulge in these pursuits. Despite the challenges of balancing her many roles and responsibilities, Daykin remains passionate and committed to her work as an author, continually striving to push the boundaries of her craft and create memorable and impactful stories.
