Judith Flanders

Judith Flanders is a renowned author from London, England, who is best known for her mystery fiction series featuring the character Sam Clair. Flanders was born in 1959 and moved to Montreal, Canada, when she was two, where she spent her childhood. After a year in Israel in 1972, she returned to London and began working as an editor for various publishing houses. It wasn't until 17 years later, in 2001, that Flanders published her first book, "A Circle of Sisters," a biography of four Victorian sisters, to great acclaim and a nomination for the Guardian First Book Award.

Flanders' writing covers a range of topics, including social history and Victorian life. Her book "The Victorian House" (2004 in the USA as "Inside the Victorian Home") received widespread praise and was shortlisted for the British Book Awards History Book of the Year. "Consuming Passions" was published in 2006, and her book "The Invention of Murder" was shortlisted for the 2011 CWA Non-Fiction Dagger. Her most recent book, "The Victorian City: Everyday Life in Dickens' London," was published in 2012. Flanders also contributes articles, features, and reviews for various newspapers and magazines. She is a well-established and respected author in the field of historical and mystery fiction.
