Judith James

Judith James is a successful author who has received numerous accolades for her work. She has won the Independent Publishers (IPPY) gold medal, been named Editor's Choice by Historical Novels Review, nominated or named Book of the Year by Romantic Times and Barnes and Noble, and earned starred reviews by Publishers Weekly and Booklist. Her books have been translated into several languages, including French and Spanish, and are available through HQN's Best-Sellers imprint. Judith's writing combines her love of history, romance, and adventure with her keen interest in the complexities of human nature, and the heart's capacity to heal.

Judith James grew up in Montreal, Quebec, and has always been an avid reader and history buff. She has a bit of an adventure junkie and has traveled, worked, and lived in many places, including the Arctic, Ireland, London, and France. Before turning her hand to writing, Judith worked as a trail guide, horse trainer, and clinical and forensic psychologist. She has now settled on the East Coast, where she enjoys a view of the ocean from her window. Judith is currently in service to a cranky elderly cat who thinks she can type and delights in teaching lessons about backing up files.

"Broken Wing" won the Independent Publishers Awards IPPY Gold Medal, was named a Romance Novel TV Best Debut, an Historical Novels Review Editor's Choice, an All About Romance Desert Island Keeper, and an All About Romance Honorable Mention Best Book. "Highland Rebel" was named one of the best of 2009 by Barnes and Noble and Historical Novels Review Editor's Choice, and was one of the best of 2009 by Dear Author.
