Judith O'Reilly

Judith O'Reilly is a renowned author, known for her works of fiction and non-fiction. She has written several books, one of which was a Radio 4 Book of the Week. Currently, she has completed her latest novel, titled "Killing State," a political thriller that she describes as a mix of Lee Child and Robert Harris, featuring a young British action hero and dynamic female characters.

O'Reilly was a political producer for BBC 2’s Newsnight and ITN’s Channel 4 News, as well as an education correspondent for The Sunday Times. During her time at The Sunday Times, she covered politics, undercover reporting, and general news. She still writes for The Sunday Times and has taught memoir and blogging at Newcastle University. O'Reilly is also an award-winning short story writer, and her latest book, "In Our Crime," is an anthology of crime short stories.

In addition to her work as an author and journalist, O'Reilly has also made a name for herself in the blogging community. Her blog, "Wife in the North," was named one of the top 100 blogs in the world by The Sunday Times and is credited with starting the popularity of domestic blogging in the UK. She has also written two memoirs, "Wife in the North" and "A Year of Doing Good," both of which were published by Viking Penguin. "Wife in the North" reached number three in the UK bestsellers’ chart and was a top ten bestseller in Germany. It was also based on her eponymous blog and was serialised by The Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph.

O'Reilly is a prolific writer who enjoys drinking tea and, on occasion, shaking things up with a cup of covfefe. She is married and lives in Durham with her family and a miniature poodle named Joey.
