Julia Quinn

Julia Quinn is the pen name of Julie Pottinger, a bestselling American author who specializes in writing historical romance novels. Pottinger chose the name Julia Quinn so that her novels would be placed next to Amanda Quick's on bookshelves, as Quick was a successful author of American historical romantic fiction. Quinn's books have been translated into more than 26 foreign languages and have appeared on the New York Times' Bestseller list over 18 times.

Julia Quinn is a graduate of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges and is one of only sixteen members of Romance Writers of America's Hall of Fame. Her books have been translated into 32 languages and she currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her family. Quinn is known for her popular series of historical romance, The Bridgertons, which is currently in production by Shondaland as a Netflix original series starring Julie Andrews, Phoebe Dynevor, and Rége-Jean Page.

Quinn enjoys dispelling the myth that smart women don't read or write romance. In 2001, she appeared on the game show The Weakest Link and won $79,000, showcasing her knowledge of British and literary topics, history, and geography, while also displaying a lack of knowledge about baseball, country music, and plush toys. Quinn is proud of her achievement on The Weakest Link and considers it a testament to her love for all things British and literary.
