Julia Turshen is a renowned cookbook author, born in 1985 and raised in a secular and liberal New York Jewish household. Both of her parents were workaholics, with her father being a graphic designer and her mother an art director. Turshen grew up with a brother, and they were encouraged to explore their creative interests from a young age.
Turshen is the author of several bestselling cookbooks, including "Now & Again," "Feed the Resistance," "Small Victories," and "Simply Julia," which was a National Bestseller. Her work has been recognized by some of the most prestigious publications in the industry, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Vogue, among others. In fact, Epicurious has named her one of the 100 Greatest Home Cooks of All Time.
In addition to her work as an author, Turshen is the founder of Equity At The Table (EATT), an inclusive digital directory of women and non-binary individuals in food. She is also the host and producer of the podcast "Keep Calm and Cook On," and sits on the Kitchen Cabinet Advisory Board for the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Turshen is also a member of God’s Love We Deliver’s Culinary Council, demonstrating her deep commitment to the food industry and her community. She currently resides in the Hudson Valley with her wife and their dogs.
