Julian Stockwin

Julian Stockwin is a highly regarded author, best known for his nautical action-adventure historical fiction novels. Born in Basingstoke City, England in 1944, he has lived in various parts of the world, including the Far-East and Australia. After joining the Royal Navy at the age of fifteen, he later transferred to the Royal Australian Navy, where he served for eight years. Stockwin then attended the University of Tasmania before returning to the Royal Navy Reserve, where he earned the honor of the MBE and retired with the rank of Lt. Commander.

In 1990, Stockwin relocated to the UK and began writing six years later. He has since written twenty-four books in the Kydd Sea Adventures series, which follows the journey of one man from pressed man to admiral in the age of fighting sail. The series marked its 20-year anniversary in 2021 with the publication of the twenty-fifth title, "Yankee Mission," which was released in October 2022. All of the Kydd series titles are available in various formats, including hardback, paperback, ebook, and audiobook, and have been translated into several foreign languages.

In addition to the Kydd series, Stockwin has also written two historical standalone novels, "The Silk Tree" and "The Powder of Death." He is an active member of the writing community and can be found on Facebook and Twitter. Stockwin currently resides in Devon with his wife, Kathy, in an eighteenth-century house named "Corinthia."
