Julie Holmes

Julie Holmes is an author who writes adult mysteries infused with suspense, romance, and occasional extrasensory or fantasy elements. Her published works include short stories featured in small press magazines such as "Fighting Chance" and "The Galactic Citizen." She is currently represented by literary agent Cynthia Zigmund of Second City Publishing Services and is working on the next installment in her Sierra Bauer mystery series.

Before pursuing writing full-time, Holmes worked as an aircraft mechanic for a commuter airline and later transitioned to a career as a technical writer for a software company. Her background lends authenticity to her storytelling, particularly in procedural and technical details. A longtime participant in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), she has been crafting fiction since elementary school, honing her ability to blend genres seamlessly.

Holmes resides on a small hobby farm in south-central Minnesota with her husband, their two college-aged children, and an assortment of pets, including dogs, cats, and chickens. When not writing, she enjoys gardening, reading, and outdoor walks. Her diverse experiences - from aviation to rural living - often influence the rich, layered worlds she creates in her fiction.
