Her debut, "The Teller of Small Fortunes," was published in November 2024 by Ace/Berkley in the US, Hodderscape in the UK, and Heyne in Germany, with translations planned in multiple languages. The novel explores themes of identity and belonging through a whimsical, heartwarming lens.

Born to Malaysian Chinese immigrants, Leong spent her childhood in suburban New Jersey and later lived in Beijing as a teenager. Her narratives often center on marginalized characters navigating worlds that question where—and with whom—they truly belong.

Based in San Francisco, Leong lives with her husband and their rescue dog, Kaya. When not crafting stories, she indulges in spreadsheet organization and culinary experiments. Her work has garnered international acclaim, positioning her as a rising voice in fantasy literature.
