K.D. Hays

K.D. Hays is the pseudonym of author Kate Dolan, specializing in contemporary mysteries and collaborative children's literature. Under this pen name, she writes lighthearted mysteries featuring a divorced soccer mom navigating the complexities of parenting, career, and faith. Hays also co-authored "Toto's Tale," a retelling of "The Wizard of Oz" from the perspective of Dorothy's dog, with her daughter Meg.

With a background in English, history, and drama from Catholic University, Hays later earned a law degree from the University of Richmond. Her writing blends humor and relatable everyday challenges, often exploring themes of family dynamics and spiritual growth. Beyond her literary work, she volunteers as a living historian and coaches youth jump rope.

Currently, Hays is collaborating on a new project about a Sunday School class battling supernatural forces while continuing her search for the world's best roller coaster. She resides near Baltimore with an eclectic assortment of pets, including dogs, anoles, and a mischievous rabbit.
