Kacey Ezell

Kacey Ezell was born in 1977 in South Dakota and grew up on various military bases around the world after her parents joined the US Air Force in 1984. When she was just seven years old, Ezell's mother introduced her to Anne McCaffrey's Dragondrums, sparking a desire in her to become a dragonrider. In 1999, Ezell followed in her parents' footsteps and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy before becoming a pilot, flying the UH-1N and Mi-17 helicopters and accumulating over 2500 hours of flight time.

From a young age, Ezell made up stories to tell her friends and family. In 2009, while deployed in Iraq, she wrote a military-themed supernatural story called "Light" which was published in the Baen Books anthology Citizens. Ezell's writing has since been featured in various anthologies, including "A Fistful of Credits" in the Four Horsemen Universe and "Not in Vain" in the Black Tide Rising anthology, which was selected for inclusion in the "Year's Best Military SF and Adventure Fiction" anthology. She has also written for Michael Z. Williamson's Freehold Universe and collaborated with John Ringo on a post-apocalyptic steampunk trilogy from Baen.

Ezell is the author of the Dragon Award nominated alternate history series "The Psyche of War," as well as the novel "The Romanov Rescue" (Baen) with Tom Kratman and Justin Watson. She is also a core author of the Four Horsemen Universe from Seventh Seal Press and has co-authored the Depik Trilogy and "Weaver" with Marisa Wolf and Mark Wandrey, respectively. Additionally, Ezell and Larry Correia have edited several noir anthologies for Baen Books. Ezell writes in various genres, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, noir, and romance, and currently lives with her husband, two daughters, and one large orange boy cat.
