Karen Ann Hopkins is a mystery, young adult, and paranormal author who was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She now resides in northern Kentucky with her family on a farm that houses a variety of animals, including horses, goats, sheep, peacocks, chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs, dogs, and cats. Karen is passionate about rescuing and fostering animals, and she also finds time to give riding lessons, coach a youth equestrian drill team, and write. Her interactions with the Amish community she lives in inspired her to write her first novel, Temptation, which tells the story of star-crossed lovers.
Karen's love for horses began when she was just five years old, and she was rewarded with her first horse, Lady, at the age of eleven. Lady was a Quarter Horse-Thoroughbred cross who became Karen's loyal companion. Horses have been a constant force in Karen's life, and she eventually found her place as a riding instructor. Before fully embracing her passion for writing and animals, Karen worked as a paralegal, traveled abroad, and guided tourists on horseback riding tours in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Karen is currently working on her Amish mystery series, Serenity's Plain Secrets, and Possum Gap, in addition to several new projects. She is excited to announce that there will be more books in the Temptation series. Karen's experiential knowledge and interactions with her Amish neighbors have driven her storytelling, allowing her to create relatable and engaging characters and stories.
