Karen Dionne

Karen Dionne is an accomplished American author, best known for her psychological suspense novels. She was born in the northern suburbs of Detroit, where she currently resides with her husband. Dionne is the author of several novels, including "The Marsh King's Daughter," which was a bestseller and was translated into more than 25 languages. The novel was also named one of 2017's best thrillers by Library Journal and received the Crimson Scribe Award, the top honor bestowed by Suspense Magazine.

Prior to becoming a well-known author, Dionne founded the Salt Cay Writers Retreat, which was held in the Bahamas every alternate year. She also established Backspace, an online writers community, and is an active member of International Thriller Writers. Dionne's contributions to the literary world have been recognized with one of the highest honors as Humanities Scholar from the Michigan Humanities Council for founding Backspace, her writing, and her body of authorship.

Karen Dionne is also the author of "The Wicked Sister," which was published by G.P. Putnam's Sons in the US and in dozens of other languages. The Marsh King’s Daughter was named one of the best books of 2017 by iBooks and many other booksellers and reviewers, and released in 2023 by Lionsgate as a major motion picture starring Daisy Ridley and Ben Mendelsohn. Dionne's novels have been praised by The New York Times Book Review as "subtle, brilliant, and mature." In addition to her writing, Dionne enjoys nature photography and often incorporates her love of nature into her work. She lives with her husband in the middle of Michigan, surrounded by a small lake and forest.
