Karen Rose is a bestselling American author, well-known for her romantic suspense novels. Born and raised in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., she met her husband, Martin, on a blind date when they were both seventeen. After graduating from the University of Maryland, where Karen earned a degree in Chemical Engineering, they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Karen worked as an engineer for a large consumer goods company, where she earned two patents. However, her mind was constantly filled with scenes that she couldn't ignore, leading her to start writing them down for fun. This hobby soon turned into a passion, and she published her debut suspense novel, DON'T TELL, in July 2003. Since then, Karen has written more than twenty-five novels and two novellas, with her twenty-sixth novel, QUARTER TO MIDNIGHT, was released in 2022. Her books have achieved international success, appearing on bestseller lists in the New York Times, USA Today, London's Sunday Times, Germany's der Spiegel, the Irish Times, South Africa, and Australia. She has also received two RITA awards for Best Romantic Suspense, in 2005 and 2011, with five of her other books being RITA finalists. Karen's novels have been translated into more than twenty languages, showcasing her global appeal.
Karen is not only a successful author but also a dedicated family person. She was a high school teacher of chemistry and physics before becoming a writer. Currently, she lives in Florida with her husband of over thirty years and is a mother to two daughters, as well as caring for two dogs and a cat. Although she has achieved significant success, Karen remains down-to-earth and passionate about her writing, which is evident in the captivating stories she creates.
