Karen Rose Smith

Karen Rose Smith is an accomplished American author, born in Pennsylvania and well-known for her romantic fiction and mystery novels. She has written under various pen names, including Karen Hughes and Kari Sutherland. Smith was an only child but enjoyed a close-knit extended family, which often serves as an inspiration for the familial themes in her books.

Smith's writing journey began in her early teens when she would create stories to accompany songs. Her love for writing led her to study English and French in college, and she later turned her fascination with relationships into full-fledged romance and mystery novels. Smith has published over 100 novels since her first book was published in 1992, with many of them becoming bestsellers on the USA TODAY list, Amazon Romance Bestseller lists, and Barnes and Noble Bestseller list.

Smith's awards include two Golden Leaf awards in short contemporary romance, the Golden Quill in traditional romance, two cataromance.com's awards for Best Special Editions and Romance Review's Today's Best series romance award.
