Kate Charles is a successful author of mystery and suspense novels. Born in Cincinnati as Carol Fosher, she grew up in Bloomington, Illinois from the age of 10. Charles was heavily influenced by Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie in her formative years, which sparked her interest in mystery novels. She pursued her passion for literature and earned a bachelor's degree in Library Science from Illinois State University and a Master's degree from Indiana University.
After completing her education, Charles moved to the United Kingdom in 1986, where she discovered a newfound interest in the Church of England. This interest became the basis for her Book of Psalms series, which is set within the Church of England. Following open-heart surgery, Charles decided to try her hand at suspense with Unruly Passions.
After gaining success with her suspense novel, Charles became interested in Italy and created Callie Anson, a newly-ordained woman visiting Venice for the first time. This new setting and character marked a significant shift in Charles' writing and allowed her to explore new themes and ideas within her work. Throughout her career, Charles has proven herself to be a versatile and talented author, capable of crafting engaging and suspenseful novels set in a variety of locations and contexts.
