Kate Christensen

Kate Christensen is an accomplished American author, well-known for her literary fiction novels and non-fiction books. She has contributed numerous reviews, essays, and stories to a variety of publications, including the New York Times Book Review, Bookforum, O, Elle, Gilt Taste, and The Wall Street Journal, where she writes an occasional drinks column called "With a Twist." Christensen's writing expertise extends beyond fiction to food, as evidenced by her food-centric memoirs and a regular monthly column for Frenchly.us called Bouffe.

Christensen has an impressive bibliography, having authored eight novels and two food-centric memoirs. Her fourth novel, The Great Man, earned her the prestigious PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction in 2008. Her latest novel, Welcome Home, Stranger, was released in December 2023. Her memoirs, Blue Plate Special and How to Cook a Moose, have garnered critical acclaim and awards, with the latter winning the 2016 Maine Literary Award for Memoir.
