Kate Folk

Kate Folk is a San Francisco-based author known for her fiction writing. She is the author of the story collection "Out There" (2022) and the forthcoming novel "Sky Daddy" (2025), both published by Random House in the U.S. and Hodder Studio in the UK. Her work has appeared in prestigious publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Granta, and McSweeney's Quarterly Concern.

A former Stegner Fellow in fiction at Stanford University, Folk has received literary support from numerous institutions, including MacDowell, the Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Originally from Iowa, her writing often explores contemporary themes through speculative and literary fiction lenses.
