Kate Racculia

Kate Racculia is an accomplished American novelist, born in 1980. She has a rich educational background, having studied design, illustration, Jane Austen, and Canada at the University of Buffalo. Racculia then went on to earn her MFA from Emerson College. Currently, she resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and is deeply involved in the local arts scene.

Racculia has written several novels that have garnered critical acclaim. Her novel, Bellweather Rhapsody, won the American Library Association's Alex Award. This Must Be the Place is another notable work by the author. In 2019, she published her third novel, Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts, through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

In addition to her work as a novelist, Racculia has an extensive work history in various fields. She has worked as a cartoonist, planetarium operator, movie and music reviewer, coffee jerk, bookseller, designer, finance marketing proposal writer, and fundraising prospect researcher. Currently, she teaches genre fiction and novel workshops at Grub Street, a non-profit creative writing community in Boston. Racculia is also involved with her local public library and sings in the oldest Bach choir in America. Her background in illustration and design is evident in her novel covers, which she often designs herself. Racculia's diverse experiences and interests have undoubtedly contributed to the unique and engaging storytelling in her novels.
