Katherine Pathak is a distinguished British author, well-known for her crime fiction, thriller, mystery, detective fiction, and suspense novels. She was born in 1974 in Inverness, Scotland, UK, and later moved to Essex where she spent her childhood. Pathak obtained a bachelor's degree in History from the York University in 1996. After her graduation, she lived and worked in London for several years, mainly in the book trade. Later, she decided to become a teacher and taught History in numerous secondary schools. Eventually, she quit teaching to focus on her passion for writing.\n \n Pathak is particularly famous for writing the DCI Dani Bevan series and The Imogen and Hugh Croft Mystery series. Her books often involve psychological mysteries with an element of romantic suspense in them. She currently lives in rural north Essex with her husband and two young children. Pathak's life-long interest in History plays an important part in her writing, and she tries to weave historical narratives into her imaginative and ingenious plots. She has published six novels in the Imogen and Hugh Croft Mystery series, with a new release "quick read" novella called "Mystery at Christmas Cottage." Additionally, she has written five books in the DCI Dani Bevan series, with the latest novel being "Girls of the Dark."
Pathak's debut novel, "Aoife's Chariot," is set against the stunning backdrop of the fictional Island of Garansay, inspired by her father's family's origins in the Isle of Arran in Scotland. She is currently working on the second in the series of 'Imogen and Hugh Croft mysteries,' which should appeal to readers who enjoy her well-observed characters and gripping storylines. Pathak believes that a good psychological thriller should explore the quirks and eccentricities of human nature, but they should always be believable and reward the reader with a deeply satisfying conclusion. She enjoys writing the sort of novels that she likes to read herself and hopes that her readership feels the same!
