Born in Long Beach, California, Kathleen is the daughter of a career Army officer and one of four sisters. She has lived in various parts of the world, including Germany, Korea, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, Louisiana, Florida, Washington D.C., Alabama, California, and Colorado. She is married to a retired Army helicopter pilot and is a mother of two sons, one of whom is deceased, and stepmother to another son and a daughter. Kathleen is also a proud grandmother. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, playing the Celtic harp, and taking care of her aging English cocker spaniel.
