Kathryn Miller Haines

Kathryn Miller Haines is an accomplished author, playwright, and actress. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she developed a love for both literature and theater. Haines pursued her passions at Trinity University in San Antonio, earning a Bachelor's degree in English and Theatre. She later went on to obtain a Master of Fine Arts in English from the University of Pittsburgh.

Haines is a member of the Mary Roberts Rinehart Chapter of Sisters in Crime and has served on the board of the New York chapter of Mystery Writers of America. She has written several mystery series, including the Rosie Winter series for HarperCollins and a young adult mystery series for Roaring Brook Press, a division of MacMillan. The first book in the young adult series, "The Girl is Murder," was nominated for the 2012 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel. In April 2017, Haines released her first standalone contemporary thriller, "The Girl From Yesterday," with Simon and Schuster.

In addition to her work as a novelist, Haines is also an award-winning playwright and artistic director for a theater company. She is an adjunct faculty member for Seton Hill's MFA in Writing Popular Fiction. Haines currently resides in Western Pennsylvania with her husband, son, daughter, and their two dogs. She continues to write and create in various capacities, staying true to her lifelong passions.
