Katie Alender is a successful young adult fantasy author, best known for her "Bad Girls Don't Die" series of novels. Alender was born and raised in South Florida, where she developed a love for writing at a young age. She has three sisters and a brother, and was raised by three supportive parents. Alender's first experience with publication came in high school, when her article "So You Want to Live on Mars" was published in Sassy magazine.
After high school, Alender attended the Palm Beach County School of the Arts, where she studied Communication Arts. She then went on to attend the Florida State University Film School, which eventually led her to Los Angeles. In LA, Alender worked in TV production and development for several years, producing shows for Animal Planet. Her first novel, "Bad Girls Don't Die," was published in 2009, marking the beginning of her career as a published author.
In addition to her writing, Alender enjoys a variety of hobbies and activities. She is an avid reader and enjoys playing board games, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She is a member of the International Thriller Writers and the Society of Children’s Book Illustrators and Book Writers. When she's not working on her novels or pursuing her hobbies, Alender can be found spending time with her family, which includes her husband, her daughters, and her dogs, Scooter and Frodo. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
