Katie Delahanty grew up in Pittsburgh with a love for old movies, fashion, and books. As a child, she was always fascinated by the world of make-believe and would spend hours playing dress up and immersing herself in the stories of her favorite books. However, she never considered telling stories of her own until much later in life.
Delahanty's passion for fashion led her to pursue a degree in fashion design from FIDM after graduating from UCLA with a BA in Communication Studies. She spent five years designing romantic dresses that were sold in various stores, including Anthropologie and Nordstrom. However, when the economy took a downturn, she found herself in charge of the ecommerce business for In Bloom Lingerie and was asked to start the company's blog. Unsure of what to write about lingerie, she decided to start a fictional serial about a girl named Olivia Bloom who worked for In Bloom Lingerie and became engaged. It was during this time that Delahanty discovered her love for storytelling and began to pursue it seriously.
Delahanty's blog serial became the first book in "The Brightside Series," and she has been waking up before dawn to write ever since. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children and his third book in "The Keystone Series," was released in 2022. Delahanty's love for fashion and make-believe shines through in her writing, creating vivid worlds and characters that readers can't help but fall in love with.
