Katy Munger is an American author, well-known for her mystery novels. She was born in Hawaii and has written fiction under various pen names, including her own. Munger was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, but spent sixteen years living in New York City. She has never been a full-time writer, preferring to spend her free time with friends, traveling, and listening to live music. Munger is also a founding member of Tart Noir, won the American Crime Writers League's 2002 award for excellence in mystery reviewing, and is a co-founder of Thalia Press as well as the Thalia Press Author’s Co-op. Publishers of her work have included Donald I. Fine, Random House, Ballantine Books, Avon Books, and Severn House. Her books have been published in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Russia.
In addition to her writing, Munger is an animal lover and has a soft spot for rescues. She lives in North Carolina on a three-acre animal sanctuary she calls home, where she takes care of a Great Pyrenees and Papillon, nine feral cats, four possums, six raccoons, a grey fox, a pair of nesting eagles and several hawk families, 3,267 rabbits, and too many songbirds to count. She spends her free time socializing with friends, cooking Southern, Thai, Indian, and Mexican food, listening to live music, dancing, reading, painting and collage, and her favorite zen activity of all: listening to audiobooks while putting together jigsaw puzzles.
