Keith Richards is an English musician, songwriter, and author best known as the cofounder and guitarist of The Rolling Stones. Alongside Mick Jagger, he has written hundreds of songs, including fourteen tracks featured in Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time." Recognized for his innovative rhythm guitar playing, Richards was ranked tenth on the magazine's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list in 2003. Beyond his work with The Rolling Stones, he has released solo albums with his band, The X-Pensive Winos.
Born in London in 1943, Richards has spent decades shaping the sound of rock music. His songwriting partnership with Jagger has produced some of the most enduring hits in rock history. In addition to his musical career, Richards has authored works reflecting his life and experiences in the industry. He resides in Connecticut with his wife, Patti Hansen.
