Kelly Link

Kelly Link is a highly acclaimed author, best known for her works of literary fiction, general fantasy, young adult fantasy, and horror. Her writing spans various genres, with a focus on magic realism, fantasy, and horror. Link's stories have gained significant recognition, earning her multiple awards such as the World Fantasy Award, Nebula Award, and the James Tiptree Jr. Award.

Graduating from Columbia University, Link has since published four collections of her short stories, including 'Stranger Things Happen', 'Magic for Beginners', 'Pretty Monsters', and 'Get in Trouble'. These collections have been praised by critics and have appeared on various best-of-the-year lists in publications such as Time Magazine, Salon, and The Capitol Times.

In addition to her work as an author, Link is also an accomplished editor. Together with her husband, Gavin Grant, she founded the independent publishing company, Small Beer Press, which focuses on publishing literary fiction and fantasy. Furthermore, she has served as an editor for the Online Writing Workshop and has been a reader and judge for various literary awards. Along with Gavin J. Grant and Ellen Datlow, Link edits 'The Year's Best Fantasy & Horror' (St. Martin's Press) and has also edited the anthology 'Trampoline'.

Link has made significant contributions to the literary world by visiting numerous schools and workshops, sharing her expertise and insights with aspiring writers. She has taught at various institutions, including Stonecoast in Maine, Washington University, Yale, Bard College, Brookdale Community College, Lenoir-Rhyne College, and the Clarion Workshops in the United States and Australia. Kelly Link received her BA from Columbia University and her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently resides in Northampton, MA.
