Kelly Meding is a bestselling American author, well-known for her works in the Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, and Science Fiction genres. She was born and raised in Southern Delaware, where she developed a keen interest in fantasy, horror, and science fiction at a young age, inspired by the character of Freddy Krueger. This interest eventually grew into a lifelong obsession with all things paranormal, including superheroes, vampires, and psychic powers.
Before becoming a professional writer, Meding held various jobs, including retail positions in her family's grocery store, a linen outlet, and TCBY during her high school years. After college, she worked as a sales associate and later became a store manager for Pier 1 Imports, a company she still works for on a part-time basis after nearly twenty years. When she is not writing, Meding enjoys reading, making jewelry, baking, and spending time with her family, most of whom live close by.
Meding's writing career began with her Dreg City urban fantasy series, which includes the books Three Days to Dead, As Lie the Dead, Another Kind of Dead, and Wrong Side of Dead. The series follows the story of Evangeline Stone, a paranormal hunter who is resurrected into the body of a stranger and has only three days to solve her own murder and prevent a war between the city's goblins and vampires. Meding later started the MetaWars series, which tells the story of the grown-up children of the world's slaughtered superheroes who receive their superpowers back after a mysterious fifteen-year absence. The series includes Trance, Changeling, Tempest, and Chimera. Writing as Kelly Meade, Meding has also published a paranormal romance trilogy with Berkley Intermix, featuring three shifter brothers and the women they come to love, starting with Black Rook.
