Kelly Robson

Kelly Robson is a highly acclaimed author, well-known for her work in the realms of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Hailing from Canada, Robson has written a number of successful standalone books and novellas, many of which have been featured in major markets of speculative fiction. Her stories have often been selected for the best anthologies of the year and have been translated into multiple foreign languages, a testament to her global reach and appeal.

In addition to her writing projects, Robson is a regular contributor to Clarkesworld's column titled "Another World". Her love for reading and writing developed during her teenage years when she would spend hours at the drugstore waiting for new issues of Asimov's Science Fiction magazine. Despite the lack of bookstores in her town and a sparse library, Robson cherished good books, recognizing them as precious treasures. This early passion for reading has significantly influenced her writing career, with nothing being more important to her than reading and writing.

Robson's writing life has been quite diverse, having edited science books and written a monthly wine column for Chatelaine, the largest women's magazine in Canada, from 2008 to 2012. She has published short fiction in various outlets such as Tor.com, Asimov's Science Fiction, and Clarkesworld, among others. Her work has been featured in several "year's best" anthologies, and she has been a finalist for several high-profile awards in recent years. Robson's writing is influenced by a variety of authors, including Connie Willis, Walter Jon Williams, Michael Bishop, Jack Womack, and Hilary Mantel, to name a few. She also has a deep appreciation for classic literature and enjoys reading non-fiction, particularly history, historical geography, and science.
