Kevin Hawkes is an accomplished illustrator and author known for his contributions to children's literature. He has illustrated over 50 picture books and chapter books, including notable works such as "Library Lion," a New York Times bestseller, "The Librarian Who Measured the Earth," "Weslandia," and "Sidewalk Circus." His distinctive artistic style, characterized by vibrant colors, imaginative landscapes, and playful perspectives, has earned him widespread recognition.
Born in Sherman, Texas, in 1959, Hawkes grew up in a creatively stimulating environment filled with music, books, and handmade projects. His childhood experiences, including frequent moves across the U.S. and Europe, influenced his artistic development. He studied illustration at Utah State University and launched his publishing career in Boston.
