Kimberley Freeman

Kim Wilkins is a prolific Australian author who has made a name for herself in a variety of genres. She has published books under both her real name and the pen name Kimberly Freeman. Her debut novel, "The Infernal," was published in 1997 and went on to win Aurealis Awards in both fantasy and horror categories.

Wilkins was born in London in 1970 and moved to Australia with her family when she was just three years old. She grew up along the seaside north of Brisbane and has remained in Queensland ever since. Wilkins has been writing for as long as she can remember, and she is proud to have written in many different genres. Under her own name, she has established herself as an award-winning writer in children's, historical, and speculative fiction.

In addition to writing under her own name, Wilkins also publishes commercial women's fiction novels under the pen name Kimberley Freeman. She adopted this pseudonym as a tribute to her maternal grandmother and to capture the spirit of the page-turning novels she loves to read. Wilkins has a Masters degree, an Honours degree, and a PhD from The University of Queensland, where she is also a lecturer. She currently resides in Brisbane with her young family, and when she's not writing, she's likely asleep.
