Kirsty Eagar is an Australian author known for her award-winning Young Adult fiction. Her debut novel, "Raw Blue," published in 2009, earned critical acclaim, winning the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Young Adult fiction. Her second novel, "Saltwater Vampires," was shortlisted for the 2011 New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards. Eagar’s works often explore themes of identity, resilience, and the transformative power of nature, particularly the ocean.

Raised on a cattle property in Central Queensland, Eagar spent her formative years balancing rural life with coastal escapes. After studying economics and working in finance in Sydney and London, she pursued a career shift to prioritize her passion for surfing and writing. Her experiences traveling across Australia and working diverse jobs inform the authenticity of her narratives. Eagar now resides on Sydney’s northern beaches, where she surfs regularly and participates in local boardriders’ competitions. Beyond writing, she founded Story Smart, an initiative focused on fostering creativity in students and schools.

Currently, Eagar is adapting "Raw Blue" into a feature film screenplay. Her deep connection to the ocean and coastal communities continues to inspire her work, blending lyrical prose with vivid settings.
