Kristina McMorris is a highly accomplished American author, best known for her historical fiction novels. She made her debut in 2011 with the release of "Letters From Home," a book inspired by her own grandparents' courtship letters during World War II. This debut novel was a huge success, named a must-read by Woman's Day Magazine and selected as a Doubleday/Literary Guild choice. It was also a finalist for the RWA Golden Heart and a semifinalist for the 2011 Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Historical Fiction.
McMorris's writing journey began much earlier, however. As a child, she hosted weekly TV shows for Warner Bros. and an ABC affiliate, starting at the age of nine with an Emmy Award-winning program. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own a wedding-and-event-planning company in her later years. These experiences, along with her grandparents' love story, have significantly influenced her writing career.
McMorris's work has been recognized with more than twenty national literary awards. Some of her most notable works include "Sold on a Monday," a million-copy bestseller, and her most recent novel, "The Ways We Hide," which was an instant international bestseller and selected as one of Target's top-five reads of 2022. Despite her success, she remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She currently splits her time between San Diego and Portland, Oregon, where she is a proud mom to two teenage boys.
