Kurt Schlichter is an American author, a trial lawyer, and a retired Army infantry colonel. He was born on December 24, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in San Mateo, California. As a highly decorated military officer, Schlichter has served in various capacities, including active duty and in the California Army National Guard. He has commanded the elite 1st Squadron, 18th Cavalry Regiment and has participated in several military operations, including the Persian Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom in Kosovo, and various domestic emergencies such as the Los Angeles riots, the Northridge earthquake, and the 2007 San Diego fires.
Schlichter is well-known for his position as a Senior Columnist for Townhall.com, where he writes twice a week. He is an experienced writer, having authored several books, including "Conservative Insurgency: The Struggle to Take America Back 2009-2041," "People's Republic," "Indian Country," "Wildfire," "Collapse," "The Split," "Militant Normals," and "The 21 Biggest Lies About Donald Trump (And You)." His latest book, "We’ll Be Back: The Fall and Rise of America," was released on July 12, 2022.
