L. Frank Baum

L. Frank Baum, born in 1856, was a prominent American author, known best for his series of children's fantasy novels based in the Land of Oz, starting with the renowned book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" (Baum, 1900). Although Baum is widely recognized for his contribution to children's literature, his literary prowess extended beyond the realm of Oz, encompassing various other pseudonyms and genres.

Baum's road to literary success was not conventional, as he engaged in a myriad of professions prior to becoming an author, including raising fancy poultry, selling fireworks, managing an opera house, and editing a newspaper (L. Frank Baum, n.d.). His versatility as a writer is evident in the range of works he produced, comprising 55 novels, 82 short stories, over 200 poems, and an unknown number of scripts (L. Baum, and Capt. Hugh Fitzgerald (L. Frank Baum, n.d.).
